Daniel Watson

Dan is a designer who works to introduce design to industries that haven’t traditionally benefited from it. He has grown a design team in the space sector at the Satellite Applications Catapult, demonstrating the value of user-centred design to space companies big and small. His own company, SafetyNet Technologies, has brought design practices and rapid prototyping to the commercial fishing sector to help solve one of the biggest issues facing the industry – how to catch only the right fish. SafetyNet now works internationally with a range of governments, research agencies and fish producers to implement their technology and move towards a more sustainable industry.
