🎤🎶 Join Sigurdur Arnason and Nick as they explore the future of music creation in the digital age in their session "Meme-able Music / Music in the 2020's" at Pirate Summit. 🚀 With the rise of short-form content on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, music has become an essential driver of video content. But the process of creating music has not been democratized in the same way as video, and can be complex and tedious. 💡 In this keynote, Sigurdur and Nick will discuss how music creation will adapt to content creators in the next few years. They will explore how a song can be transformed from a 3-minute passive listening experience to a short-form format for the "TikTok age." This will be good. See you there! 🏴☠️🎵

How TikTok is changing the music industry 🎶 TikTok is introducing a new "AI Song" feature that uses AI to create original music based on text prompts provided by users. Did you know? Businesses can only use commercially licensed music on TikTok, so this new feature will give more options for music selection. This new tool on TikTok will empower marketers to produce unique music without musical skills, enhancing the creativity of TikTok videos. This is another example of how AI is aiding in video production. Marketers should pay attention to TikTok's AI Song as it introduces a new way to enhance content creativity, streamline music creation, and potentially reduce copyright-related challenges, making it a valuable tool for digital marketing strategies. Univeral exit Tik Tok. 👋 🔊 Are TikTok playing a clever game with AI-generated music ?🔊 As of March 1, Universal Music Publishing bids farewell to TikTok, pulling its vast catalog of ~4 million songs. Earlier, around February 1, UMG's extensive collection of ~3 million recordings lost their TikTok spot. Universal Music Publishing Group recently informed its songwriters about this change, expressing concerns about TikTok's use of AI-generated audio. TikTok hasn't assured Universal that its AI won't analyze and replicate their musical creations. 🙀 UMPG also raises valid concerns about TikTok potentially leveraging AI-created music to diminish the market share and earnings of copyrighted/licensed music on the platform. 🤖 🎹 This situation brings to light a suggestion made by Music Business, the online music new hub, where they raised the possibility of TikTok and similar platforms possibly flooding their catalogues with AI-generated music, potentially affecting traditional rightsholders. The question remains: Can TikTok initially transform the music landscape by relying on licensed music and then replacing it with AI-generated tracks?
