PIRATEx is the team behind some of the most unconventional and authentic tech & startup events which was founded in 2010. We bring together more than 15,000 participants annually during events like PIRATE Summit, OMClub, EXEC (Fintech & Insurtech), Jeck’n’Tech and Startup SAFARI. Thereby our purpose is to create platforms for meaningful connections. In addition to our own event brands, we develop, design and produce events for renowned companies across Europe. Senior Sales/Account Manager (m/f/d)

Full-time – Based in Cologne, Germany

Starting March 1, 2020

We are looking for a driven, dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Sales/Account Manager, who expands our national and international B2B activities and has the passion to close deals. About the Job

Next to being ARRRsome, your responsibilities as a Senior Sales/Account Manager will be:

  • Creating and managing the sales pipeline mainly focusing on partner companies for the PIRATEx event portfolio (PIRATE Summit, OMClub, Startup SAFARI, EXEC etc.)
  • Developing and maintaining a strong sales network
  • Acquiring new partners & sponsors by implementing your own strategies
  • Represent PIRATEx at events and fairs
  • Building positive and lasting relationships between PIRATEx and its clients 
  • Managing & guiding a sales team

Important skills for the job:

  • 2-5 years of professional working experience as a sales manager or account manager (preferably in the event industry)
  • Highly organized & able to prioritize shifting workloads and responsibilities effectively
  • Strong track record of effective sales organisations and exceeding targets
  • Deliver sales, revenue and manage expense in addition to execution of events and wider business strategy
  • Networker by heart and a strong client network
  • Excellent English and German negotiation skills
  • Commercial and customer driven
  • Encouraging and delivering change
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and work with new software
  • Excel under pressure, be well organized and be able to multitask
  • Passionate about the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship

About the Job

Next to being ARRRsome, your responsibilities will be:

  • Generating ideas to enlarge our existing funnel of contact data
  • Formulate and manage our mail campaigns for our potential partners
  • Managing the full sales cycle for the PIRATEx event portfolio (PIRATE Summit, OMClub, Startup SAFARI, EXEC etc.)
  • Automation: We aim to build a highly automated low-/no touch content network to distribute relevant startup ecosystem information globally.
  • Partnerships: We believe in collaboration and aim to grow our global brand by strategic and sustainable partnerships with major media outlets all around the world.
  • Smart Growth: Building a global brand needs smart growth strategies of relevant online-/offline metrics (Social Media Followers/Website visits etc.)
  • Quality Content: Quality content is the key to successful brand building. We aim to only provide information that really matter to our community.
  • …but this is dependent on your skill-set as we have many more tasks (growth hacking etc.) within the company.

PIRATE.global, founded in 2010, is a holding company with currently three business areas: events, investment & software development.

The team of our daughter company PIRATEx organizes some of the most unconventional and authentic tech & startup events in Europe. They bring together >15,000 participants annually during events such as PIRATE Summit, EXEC (Fintech & Insurtech), Jeck‘n‘Tech, OMClub as well as Startup SAFARI.

Besides supporting the PIRATEx team we also invest in startups as well as more strategic investments where we can leverage the reach and visibility we have with our events. Our latest strategic investment was in a software agency based in Tirana (Albania).

About the Job

Next to being ARRRsome, as the Executive Assistant you will be the right hand of our founders i.e.

  • Managing the calendars, answer incoming emails and coordinate meetings with all sorts of stakeholders
  • Identification and contact with relevant (strategic) business partners
  • Management of speaker engagements from start to finish
  • Preparation of presentations, e.g. for sales pitches 
  • Booking business trips
